We keep First and Second Birthdays pretty low key and don't go "all out" until they know what is going on. But, we try to make them special days as this is the one day of the year that is ALL ABOUT THEM! So fun! The table gets decorated, balloons all over, special food, presents and celebrating!
Caden couldn't wait for Owen to start opening presents (which he had plenty of thanks to adoring family, Grandmas especially!) so we started at breakfast and the final ones were done with friends right before dinner!
We were blessed to have the Watkins family join us for dinner and cake. This family has been so sweet to us and our boys and they seem to enjoy the boys more than anyone else in all Georgia, so it was great to have them celebrate with us! Caroline is so sweet and helpful with Owen!
When we first opened presents in the morning, Owen would open one and then point to the stack on the hutch and say "one ma (more)"! Another fun memory is that he kept blowing out the candle as we were singing to him. I think Brad had to light it 3 or 4 times! I had been singing "Happy Birthday" to him for a day or two before the big day and then we would pretend to blow out a candle at the end of the song (and he loves to blow out ones around the house) so I guess he was Very Prepared for that part!
